Heroes Walk raises money to save babies

By John Labriola - Two recent hurricanes couldn't keep people away from the Pregnancy & Family Life Center (PFLC) of Citrus County’s annual Heroes Walk for Life on Saturday in Floral Park.

Over 150 residents participated in the walk and ensuing bake sale, which raised about $20,000 for the PFLC. The walk is held every October in honor of Respect Life Month.

Just before the walk, PFLC Executive Director Stephanie Bell held baby Arrow in her arms. The baby is a testament to the lies of the abortion industry. Doctors recommended that his mother abort him because of false diagnoses of fatal illness. She refused, and today he is a healthy baby boy.
There was a booth with information about why residents should vote No on pro-abortion Amendment 4, which is being funded by Planned Parenthood, the ACLU and various Soros-backed groups. The deceptively worded amendment would require taxpayer funding of late-term abortions and eliminate parental consent for minors seeking abortions. "Vote No on 4" yard signs and literature were available for distribution.

Groups from a number of churches participated in the walk, including Connection Church of God, Victory Baptist, Covenent Church of God, Joy and Praise Fellowship, Redemption Point, Harvest Church, St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Faith Lutheran, and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Sponsors included Bolton, Helm and Augustine Law Firm, McFarlin Feed and Seed, Faith Lutheran, Knights of Columbus Council #15154, Just in Case Automotive, Nailed It Roofing, Citrus MOPAR Club, U.S. Representative Gus Bilirakis, and First Choice Storage.

The PFLC provides free and confidential pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, parenting education, maternity and infant clothing, adoption services and other resources at its Inverness location to help every woman carry her baby to term. The center is located at 317 Tompkins St., Inverness, FL 34450.

If you couldn't attend the walk but would like to help the PFLC continue to fulfill its mission, you can donate online HERE or call (352) 344-3030 to learn more.
