Another Chronicle endorsement fail
By John Labriola - The Citrus County Chronicle has endorsed far-left pro-abortion Trump-hating Democrat Marilyn Holleran in the race for State Senate against Republican Blaise Ingoglia.
In doing so, the Chronicle has proven once again not only how out of touch they are with the values of Citrus County, but also how they lie to push their leftist agenda.
The Chronicle paints a caricature of Ingoglia as a do-nothing "showman" who makes "headlines with divisive stunts" and little else.
To make its case, the Chronicle cites just two bills Ingoglia sponsored. One of them was designed to make a statement against the Democratic Party's wholesale destruction of statutes of our Founding Fathers and other leaders by saying the party itself should be canceled for previously supporting slavery. It was a bill he knew would go nowhere, but it was an important statement to make about the hypocrisy of leftist cancel culture and why it needs to stop.
But the Chronicle ignores the many substantive bills Ingoglia has successfully shepherded through the Legislature. They include the strongest state-led anti-illegal immigration law in U.S. history (including mandatory e-verify), a bill to help law enforcment put sex offenders behind bars, legislation to stop universities and colleges from including Critical Race Theory in teacher prep courses, and laws resulting in $2 billion in tax cuts.
The Chronicle doesn't agree with these laws, so it pretends they don't exist in order to try to convince the people of Citrus County that they need to vote for a far-left candidate who actually has no chance of winning.
Holleran will lose in a landslide, and the only thing the Chronicle is doing is showing voters why they should never be trusted.
So if you haven't done so already, cancel the Chronicle!
