Republicans reject Holly Davis

By John Labriola - The Republican Party of Citrus County on Monday rejected a motion to contribute $3,000 to RINO County Commissioner Holly Davis's campaign for reelection against No Party candidate Paul Grogan this November.

Davis escaped an August primary when her Republican opponent Jesse Rumson was disqualified by Elections Supervisor Mo Baird. Rumson submitted his paperwork well before the June 14 qualifying deadline, but one of his forms was not notarized. He was given a new form to notarize, but elections officials didn't notice that he failed to check a box until well after the deadline, and he was kept off the ballot.

At Monday's meeting, Party Chairman Mike Moberley asked for a motion to give $3,000 apiece to Davis and Mosquito Control Board candidate John Cino, who both have November elections.

Republican Executive Committee member Mary Seader objected, saying the Republican Party should not give money to candidates who "don't represent Republican values, like Holly Davis." Her remarks drew vigorous applause.

When the question was called, the motion to give Davis money failed by a vote of 34 to 40. Another motion was then made to give $3,000 only to Cino, which passed.

Davis, a far-left liberal who knows she has to stay a Republican to get elected in Citrus County, has repeatedly pushed for LGBT propaganda displays targeting children in the libraries and has aggressively steered tourist tax dollars to the homosexual magazine Outcoast to market Citrus County as a destination for queer and trangender tourists. Davis also has consistently favored large tax increases, including last year's massive 18 percent property tax hike, and has supported unpopular overdevelopment projects, calling for zoning and land use changes to give developers incentives to build higher density residential developments.

Grogan wants to be a conservative voice for Citrus County to ensure responsible growth and protect local sovereignty by reexamining how the county interacts with federal agencies. A Merchant Marine Officer, he is currently engaged in construction projects with Caldwell Marine International. Grogan is the Lead Pastor of Inner Beauty Ministry and is the Owner/President of Citrus County Classifieds LLC and the Founder of BlueBulbProject.org, an environmental initiative focused on clean water and blue skies.

Don't be fooled by false party labels. Support conservative Paul Grogan over leftist Holly Davis this November.
