Chronicle sides with Satan
Unlike June 2021, when rainbow-flag-draped displays of LGBT books and slogans sparked widespread community outrage, the county's libraries are once again taking a pass on celebrating perversity.
But while woke brands like Bud Light and Adidas are getting clobbered by boycotts over their aggressive LGBT agenda-pushing, the Citrus County Chronicle obviously hasn't taken a hint. On June 3, the failing leftist newspaper's front page was plastered with nearly wall-to-wall LGBT propaganda, including a 56-paragraph article featuring the headline "Local LGBTQ+ folks say they're here to stay," which was loaded with massive contempt for Citrus County residents' overwhelmingly conservative Christian values.
The one-sided piece, which quoted only LGBT activists posing as downtrodden victims of irrational bigotry, denounced Gov. Ron DeSantis and Republican legislators for banning LGBT propaganda in public schools and outlawing transgender genital mutilation surgeries on children, which the Chronicle called "gender-affirming care," using the language-twisting Orwellian term invented by far-left LGBT ideologues. Labeling such common-sense and needed child-protection laws as "anti-LGBTQ," the article smugly characterized them as "temporary bumps in the road," destined to eventually be swept aside in the LGBT movement's relentless march towards "equality."
This sorry excuse for journalism even rapped Target for supposedly not being LGBT-friendly enough. The retail chain suffered over $12 billion in losses after facing intense criticism over its new line of "tuck-friendly" transgender swimwear for children and other cringeworthy trans merchandise. The company made a small concession to critics by removing a handful of LGBT items by Satanic designer Abprallen. The Chronicle's hack reporter Fred Hiers deemed this a "misstep" and scolded the retailer for its decision, insisting it "can't pick and choose" when to be and when not to be an "ally." (Because Satan apparently doesn't appreciate any inconsistency.)
"I don't understand why the article...wasn't labeled as an opinion piece," Michael Shaw of Crystal River said in a letter to the editor. "The article is, at best, incompetent journalism, and at worst, deliberately one-sided and deceptive."
