Chronicle goes woker

By John Labriola - The Citrus County Chronicle has reached a new level of woke as the liberal newspaper has apparently adopted the racially divisive editorial policy of capitalizing the word black but not the word white.

Last week, the Chronicle ran a front-page article about its decision to join other newspapers in canceling the comic strip "Dilbert" because of controversial remarks by its creator following the publication of a Rasmussen poll about the statement "It's OK to be white."

Throughout the article, the word white was lower-cased while the word black was consistently capitalized as "Black." Many liberal newspapers and publications around the country adopted this "woke" capitalization policy in the wake of the George Floyd police confrontation that sparked the deadly Black Lives Matter riots in the summer of 2020.

The Citrus Crusader reached out to the newspaper for an explanation of its discriminatory capitalization policy, but the Chronicle's executive editor Jeff Bryan did not respond to a request for comment.

Residents receiving the Chronicle can cancel their subscription by calling (352) 563-6363.
