Walmart's grooming Valentine

By John Labriola - Valentine's Day is named for St. Valentine, the third century priest who was martyred for performing Christian weddings during a time of persecution in ancient pagan Rome. But Walmart stores are celebrating Valentine's Day the only way woke corporations know how – by grooming minors with graphic LGBT materials.

Based on a reader tip, the Citrus Crusader recently checked out the large Valentine's Day product display area at the Inverness Walmart at 2461 E Gulf to Lake Hwy.

The Valentine-themed aisles featured several books from the illustrated "gay teen romance" series Heartstopper,  which also took up virtually an entire shelf in the store's regular book section. Heartstopper, by self-described "asexual" author and illustrator Alice Oseman, was recently turned into a Netflix series that has been condemned for normalizing not only homosexuality but also transgenderism among young people, helping fuel the alarming rise in sexual mutilation surgeries on minors.

In addition to the graphic novels, the Inverness Walmart's Valentine display featured "The Heartstopper Coloring Book." Located in the young children's section of the display, the coloring book features page after page of main characters Nick and Charlie making out.

A survey of the Walmart store in Lecanto turned up a similar find, but when the Citrus Crusader brought the issue to the attention of the manager on duty at the time, he agreed the "Heartstopper" materials were inappropriate for young children and pulled them from the children's sections.

But managers at the Inverness Walmart refused to take action, saying removing the grooming materials would make them "haters against the LGBT community." Courtney, a top manager at the Inverness store who refused to give her last name, insisted that any directive to pull the materials would have to come directly from Walmart's corporate office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

A Citrus County shopper last week expressed her disgust over the displays on Walmart's online survey system at survey.walmart.com

"Am more than disturbed over the easy to reach display of vile children's coloring books demonstrating anti-Christian abhorrent acts of child grooming and pornography," she wrote. "Walmart should be ashamed of their choice and I look forward to new competitors which will be arriving soon."

Residents who wish to complain about the displays should call the Inverness Walmart at (352) 637-2300. Walmart's national customer service line is 1-800-WALMART. An online feedback form is also available at corporate.walmart.com/about/contact/store-corporate-feedback
