Vote this Tuesday!

By John Labriola - Voters face an important choice at the polls this Tuesday at all levels of government. Whether it's putting a congressional check on the Biden administration's open borders woke socialism, keeping Florida free under DeSantis, or preserving our community's small town conservative Christian character by electing John Labriola to Inverness City Council, a lot is at stake this Nov. 8. 

I am the only candidate for city council who has pledged to oppose overdevelopment and to stop using our local tax dollars to promote leftist agendas such as "LGBT Pride Month" celebrations in our public libraries. We don't need more traffic and crime coming to our area, and we certainly don't need rainbow-flag-draped sexual orientation displays and drag queens overrunning our community. These things undermine our values and quality of life; they do not make us stronger. 

My positions have earned me the hatred of the Citrus County Chronicle and some of their friends in power. But I don't care what they think because I want to represent the people, not the liberal elites.

We can't afford to be complacent by sitting out this election. If you haven't already voted, or if you received a mail-in ballot but misplaced it, you can still vote so please be sure to make your voice heard at the ballot box. And please vote for John Labriola and the entire conservative ticket!

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, so go vote!

By John Labriola - Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast is facing renewed criticism for bragging about his ongoing cooperation with the Biden Justice Department in rounding up January 6 protesters and declaring them criminals before a trial.  Last week, Prendergast announced his department partnered with the FBI in the May 2 arrest of a Homosassa man who is being charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer during the Jan. 6, 2021, demonstration at the U.S. Capitol. Rep. Massullo responds to accusations against his medical practice

Ralph Massullo on Friday responded to accusations against him and his medical practice that were made in an article published in last week's edition of the Citrus Eagle , the predecessor to this publication.  The article, authored by Billy Cayce, reported that Massullo and his partner Dr. William Welton III of Suncoast Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center, which has offices in Lecanto and Ocala, paid the federal government a $2.3 million fine in December 2020 for Medicare fraud. The article was based on an  announcement posted on the website of the U.S. Office of Inspector General (OIG) , which reported that the $2.3 million payment stemmed from falsified patient records and claims prepared by a Suncoast shareholder employee, who allegedly upcoded procedures and overstated the size and type of excised lesions, leading to unnecessary follow-up procedures.  Massullo, who contacted the  Citrus Eagle  three days after the article was published, said he orde

Commissioner Davis demands $$$ for pro-LGBT, anti-white tourism plan

By John Labriola - In a cringeworthy display of "woke" virtue-signaling, liberal Citrus County Commissioner Holly Davis last week trashed her recently deceased father as a racist while defending her support for a plan to spend $55,000 in hotel bed taxes on a "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" (DEI) tourism advertising campaign to promote more LGBT and less white Christian family-oriented tourism to Citrus County.  "My dad was born and raised in Forrest City, Arkansas, which is named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, founder of the Ku Klux Klan.
